Statewide Furloughs
The Legislature passed SB 1614 in the 2011 Regular Session eliminating the mandatory June 2011 furlough day and all Fiscal Year 2012 mandatory furlough days for state employees.

Agency Furloughs
Agencies may implement furlough days if necessary to meet budgetary constraints. The parameters for administering furloughs for uncovered employees are at the discretion of the agency director. For covered employees, an agency may conduct a furlough in accordance with the provisions outlined in Personnel Rule R2-5-417, Furlough (effective June 4, 2011), which includes the requirement to obtain prior approval from ADOA.
